Cooperation
Cooperation is fundamental for men in order to ensure a more comfortable, longer e non solitary life.
Taking this example to the extreme, if a man is selfish and not clever enough to understand the advantage of cooperation, it means that he would spend all of his time taking care of the necessities for his survival (looking for food, shelter, clothing).
These preoccupations would take up all of his time, living no room for the development of other interests or activities.
In this sense, since prehistoric times, cooperation has been a tool for progress and change allowing individuals to do only a part of the necessary work of survival and opening the door for creative activities and leisure time.
Cooperation has allowed an economy to develop societies based on work.
Family is an interesting example of cooperation because of its nature of disinterested cooperation with the other members.
As opposed to social cooperation based on returns, family works together because of their affective ties and not because they are promoting their individual interests.
Each family needs to survive as a unit.
So is interesting to reflect on the phrase “we are all brothers and sisters” used when cooperation is called, for which underlines the near perfect style cooperation of family.
It’s as if it’s a universal truth that taking family cooperation as a model for society makes for a more successful (cooperative) social system.
